4-axis CNC milling and assembly
Precision 4-axis vertical milling and assembly of prototype and small-batch components, programmed in-house and verified with on-machine probing and calibrated inspection.
CNC milling and assembly
4-axis vertical milling of machined components from bar, plate and billet, with in-process probing for work offsets and feature verification. Sub-assemblies are built, fitted and inspected in-house: pressed inserts, installed hardware, bonded or fastened multi-part assemblies.
Materials
- Aluminum alloys
- Stainless steel and other steels
- Plastics and engineering polymers
Material is purchased from approved suppliers with mill certifications and tracked by heat lot from receipt through shipment.
Tolerances, quantities and lead time
| Standard tolerance | +/- 0.005 in |
|---|---|
| Precision tolerance | Down to +/- 0.0005 in, available on critical features |
| Quantities | 1 to 100 pieces typical |
| Lead time | 3 to 30 days typical |
| Finishes | Anodizing, bead blast, tumbling, chem film, and others |
Inspection
Every instrument carries an asset ID and a calibration record. Reference standards are certified gauge blocks; working instruments are calibrated against them to the applicable ASME B89 practice.
- Coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
- Spindle-mounted touch probe for in-process measurement
- Optical measuring system
- Micrometers, calipers and height gauge on a surface plate
- Drop indicators, gauge pin sets and gauge block sets
First-article inspection (FAI) reports and formal inspection reports are available. Material certifications ship with the parts when the purchase order requires them.
Industries
Defense
